I arrived in Kenya as a missionary on a Tuesday. The following Sunday, I was asked by the pastor to take over teaching the Book of Exodus. I happily agreed (what's the point of being a missionary otherwise?). To teach and leave a well documented class for others after I left, I first turned to Learn Logos, where John had a class on the Book of Exodus. I delivered my first class the following Sunday. There is a shortage of Biblical resources, especially seminary, in Kenya, and those that are available are generally beyond the reach of most Christians. About 6 people in the church (of about 100) have access to a Bibles. The people are hungry for sound Bible teaching, and thanks to John's hard work, they get it. The congregation was happy about the depth of knowledge, put in easy to understand ways (Even though they speak English, I still had a translator!), that was given to them. So now, people in remote areas are learning to get to know God in more meaningful ways.
