1) When to Search
A. Notes in Logos/Word Process: Link with Key Thoughts and/or your analysis

2) What to do with the Results
A. Looking for something very specific
- Person, place, thing (Paul, Areopagus, Inscription)
- Ideas: words, definitions, doctrines (Creator God)
- one word topics or “phrase”/“multiple word topic” (“heaven and earth)
B. Good grasp of the key search terms and ideas
- Single word, single verse, Boolean: AND OR (paul proclaim)
- Proximity (paul WITHIN 20 WORDS proclaim)

C. Know which books to search (acts 17:24 areopagus)
- Bibles, Dictionaries/Encyclopedia, Commentaries, Theology, Devotionals/Illustrations

3) Additional Thoughts:
A. Study First then Search Second: learn the jargon, key ideas and topics
B. Too many results? Narrow your search adding key words and searching specific collections
C. Too few results? Reduce your key words, search entire library

4) Importance of Creating Custom Collections
A. Limit the number of books in the search
B. Increase the number of books that have similar content
C. Yields richer results

I appreciate all you do. Just by way of encouragement I especially like both the Power point and the Word Document that you have now included in both of the webinars (Doctrine of Forgiveness, and last night’s First Coming). I find that the Power Points serve as good examples and ideas for my presentations. Here at F.B.C I do all of our Sunday morning services completely on PowerPoint.
I like the Word Documents because it saves me time in getting together a “Process” notebook to help me use Logos. This is where I had felt so frustrated and intimidated by Logos in the past. Your webinars and Documents help me get through the “chaos” of how to begin. So thanks for your willingness to share and make your products affordable enough for us smaller church pastors.
